tv series renaming.

I'm hoping that there's something simple I'm doing wrong, I dug around in the forums and couldn't find an answer, hopefully, I didn't miss anything.
anyway, here goes, with 0.7.11, some of the tv shows aren't having their episodes renamed.
they're going, usually, into the right folder, ie
Fifth Gear/ but in there, the resultant file is fifth.gear.s22e01.hdtv.x264-tla.mp4 instead of S22E01.
Family Guy is particularly bad, it even gets the folder name wrong, putting the whole name of the file in it.
most other shows work fine.

Unless you are using the "Season Sort" function, SABnzbd will use the names given by the poster.

you mean series sort?, on the config/sorting tab, under series sorting, I've got 'tv' as an affected category, enable tv sorting checked, sort string %sn/S%0sE%0e.%ext, when I plug in the file names that come through, I get what I want, ie, fifth.gear.s22e01.hdtv.x264-tla.mp4 in the test data field results in Fifth Gear/S22E01.avi in the processed result output.
most of the tv shows work, but not always.... at least, they did until the 0.7.11 update which I just put in a few days ago, I haven't gotten much in since then, and I can't remember if it's all been messed up.

Well, if you can come with a solid example, please email the NZB and your expression to
bugs@sabnzbd.org
(and add the URL of this message).

I'm experiencing a similar problem since 0.7.10 / 0.7.11.
Basically my sort rules want to put episodes into my "series" folder using the following structure:
Show Name\Season 1\Show Name - 105 - Episode Name [DTS].avi
So i'm using the following sort string:
%sN\Season %s\%sN - %s%0e - %en.%ext
Instead of the expected folders, my episodes are being placed into folders that match the NZB name, and the original filename is used instead.
Can someone please help? This is such a frustrating issue, when its been working flawlessly for months and months!
Thanks!

It works perfectly fine for me.
Did you enable one or more categories and did you set the NZB to one of those categories?
If you don't use categories, make sure that the "Default" category is enabled in Config->Sorting->SeriesSorting
and that Series Sorting is enabled in the first place.

Hi shypike, Have configured multiple categories, and use the default and "series" category for series. Both of these are configured for the "series sort" feature, and the series sort feature is enabled as well. This is a feature that I have been using for months, as mentioned, and it is only in the last week that it isn't working. I have tripled checked that all the settings are in place: series sorting is enabled, the categories are configured correctly (it should be noted that the category itself is set to put stuff into a "series" folder, and that this is indeed happening, it is only the sorting feature where the series name folders and the season folders within them aren't being created).
I also noticed that the latest update says it fixed an issue where series weren't being sorted correctly if there was an additional file within the archive. If this was fixed, could it perhaps have broken regular sorting?
I'm not exactly sure what other settings to check, but i'm more than happy to provide screenshots of the related settings areas if that will help us track down the issue?
Also surely this issue can't be caused by something within the NZBs? It seems to occur with multiple nzbs for different shows?
Really want to get this working again!

Just email an example NZB and your exact sort settings
to
bugs@sabnzbd.org and add the url of this message.
Make sure the NZB has the same name as when you used it.

Awesome thanks. Will do. I have done some more testing, and it seems that if there are fullstops/dots in the nzb name, then it fails to sort and rename properly. I manually changed the name of an item in my queue to remove the fullstops, and suddenly it was happy to sort. It is weird though since movie sorting handles fullstops without any issue.
I'll send the email soon. Thanks
