I've been using sabnzb for sometime but frequently get some files that never finish the verify / repair, or takes a REALLY long time (usually big files/ downloads). This makes all other files on queue to wait and my server CPU at 100%. I usually manually kill the par2 process but only see that once a day or so and the machine is 24/7 on.
It would be nice if sabnzbd had a configurable timer for repair/verify, so if it takes more than half an hour, for example, it stops the par2 process, requeue its other par2 files for download and then I can manually repair it with quickpar later. Or is there a par2 parameter for that and I don't know?
If it isn't possible, maybe a setting that prevents sabnzbd to start the par2 on big files so I could configure it to just download all par2 files and leave it there if it's a >2gb download for example. I could manually check the file later. It wouldn't prevent all cases, but most of them I hope.
Timer for par2 process to live
Re: Timer for par2 process to live
Currently we have no way of stopping external programs.
I understand your issue, but it would take a lot of time
and complexity to implement something like what you're asking for.
(First thing to solve is how to stop par2 reliably on multiple platforms.)
Maybe something for the long term, but it won't be very high on the todo list.
