When unpacking files, the amount of free memory drops like a brick, and snaps back as soon as the unpacking is done.
Is their a way minimize this
( I have 10 gigs o ram)

Unpacking is done by external utilities like unzip and unrar.
We have no control over their memory usage.
Also I have never seen options to reduce memory usage of those tools.
So, the short answer is: no.
