SabNZBd won't start, weird error. PLEASE help.

Hi, new to the forum. Great to meet you all and such.
I was trying to forward my ports so I could access SabNZBd from my Android phone, with Unity (an App), and I was trying to enter different IP adresses in the "Use this adress" bar.
I wen't from 0.0.0.0, tried my IPv6 adress, 192.168.0.101, then my IPv4 adress, 192.168.0.100, then I tried my external adress, the adress my ISP provided me with, and suddenly the program crashed.

When I tried to restart it, it gave me a weird error."Error occored" - "See logfile C:\Program Files\SabNZBd\SABnzbd.exe.log for details".
So obviously I did. And this is what I found:

Exception in thread HTTPServer Thread-10:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "threading.pyo", line 488, in __bootstrap_inner
File "threading.pyo", line 448, in run
File "cherrypy\process\servers.pyo", line 75, in _start_http_thread
File "cherrypy\wsgiserver\__init__.pyo", line 1644, in start
error: (10049, "Can't assign requested address")

Since I don't understand ANY of this, I figured I'd just reinstall the program instead.
I tried that, but the same problem.
Then I tried installing it to a different folder, hoping it would install with "default" settings, thinking maybe that would change something, but no such luck, same error.
Then I tried disconnecting from the internet/my network, in chase setting my external IP made some kind of weird loop that screwed with the program when it ran, but that didn't seem to make any difference, still the same error.
Then I tried downloading an older version, 0.7.7, and installed that to another folder. Still the same error.

So does anyone have ANY idea what I could try next?
I'm seriously about to format my computer just to get SabNZBd working again, I'm going crazy without it.

Any help would be massivly appreciated.

Press WindowsKey-R and type this (all of it):
"c:\program files\sabnzbd\sabnzbd.exe" -s 127.0.0.1:8080
or (for 64bit):
"c:\program files (x86)\sabnzbd\sabnzbd.exe" -s 127.0.0.1:8080

That should reset SABnzbd to use 127.0.0.1:8080.
After that you can try another address.
That is, after finding out what your system's real IP address is.
There's some screw-up in your DNS settings, otherwise SABnzbd
would be OK with either a blank or 0.0.0.0 as host address.

Thank you, I finally just tried uninstalling SAB through the Windows uninstall, and checked "delete my settings", and installed it again. Then it worked.

Now I just need to get my port forwarding to work.
My devices forwards ports just fine (I have a Foscal camera, and I can access this through 3G on my phone no problem), but neither SAB, SB or CP want's to forward any ports.
I installed a program that was supossed to help me, can't remember it's name, and it just gave me a windows-bubble in the notification-area near the clock saying "Windows Services blocked attempt at connection" or something.
So it seems it has something to do with my Windows settings or something.

I tried writing firewall.cpl in RUN, and disabled everything, then uninstalled my other anti-virus and blockers and anything that could possibly interfere, but still, no go.
Annoying to say the least.
Any ideas on this? :)

edit: it works over LAN IP. But I wan't WAN.

If you can access SABnzbd from other devices on your LAN, it's only a matter of port forwarding, which must be done on your modem/router/NAT-device. It has nothing to do with your Windows.

*If* your modem/router/NAT-device supports UPnP, and it is activated, there are tools to set the port fowarding in your modem/router/NAT-device from your computer. See http://forums.sabnzbd.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=12350

Some firewalls require separate permissions for LAN and WAN (I know Windows Firewall does).
SABnzbd is not aware of the difference between LAN and WAN, it relies on port-forwarding.
Neither are CP and SB.
Does your router require special trickery?

It shouldn't.
It's a standard D-Link something something..
As I mentioned earlier, it forwards the port of my Foscam just fine, but none of these programs, which is weird.
The Foscam has the internal IP 192.168.0.104, the PC has 192.168.0.105, I've done the esact same thing but for some reason, the PC just won't be forwarded.

edit: PS: I hate network :p

edit2: What's the difference between a Virtual Server and Port Forwarding?

FYI: your setup already works; As a forum admin I can see your public IP address. So I checked port 8080, and saw your SABnzbd.

So ... how do you test? What makes you think it doesn't work?

What the hell?
Eh, maybe I got the wrong external IP then? Because I just went to " http://www.whatismyip.com/ ", copied, pasted and added the port, tried from another computer, my phone and this computer.
Could you please PM me the IP you used?
This is weird. Really weird.
Edit: Nevermind, went off my Wifi, and tried with 3G on my phone, and now it worked. Thank you! Apparantly I cant connect through external IP on the same network.
weird :p
and THANKS. I would NEVER have thought of that.

weird :p
Your modem/router/NAT-device needs to U-turn the outbound traffic back into your LAN. Not all devices support that.

So testing with 3G is best.

Mohahaha, just disconnected from my WiFi, and suddenly they all connected.
And sander, I put up a login/password :p
On all of them :p
Thanks :)

edit: is there any way to make it work whilst connected to the same wifi as well though? any settings on my router?
it works with my camera as ive mentioned countless times :p
while im at home, im usually connected to my wifi with my phone, and if i'm at the other end of the house, and suddenly want to interfere with sab/sb/cp, it'd be nice to be able to do that, without having to disconnect from wifi, only to reconnect when im done.
i know it sounds kind of picky, but im so close to having it perfect, and that would be the final touch :)

So you can access your camera (with its own ethernet interface, right?) from your phone, using your public IP address (right?), both when on your LAN and when on 3G? Sure?

If so, I would say Shypike's statement about the Windows firewall could be the explanation. To verify that, remove (=deintall) your firewall and see what happens.

I have, I have removed all antivirus programs, all Windows protection crap, and turned off Windows Firewall.
But still it won't work.
Sorry I'm so slow to reply on my own thread some times, but I'm working multiple problems at once :p real life problems, and nerdy problems.

But now it's late in Norway, got work tomorrow.
Thanks for all your help, I'll try more tomorrow.

edit:
Yes, I can access the camera with it's own interface, both on and off the same Wifi.
On any computer or on my phone.
I have saved two different profiles in my phone-app, one for when I'm home, and one for when I'm away.
The one for when I'm home, uses the internal IP, and the one for when I'm away uses the external IP, with the forwarded port.
When I'm home (wifi), they both work (This is where it differs from my computer I guess.).
When I'm on 3G, only the external IP with the forwarded port works.
