hi,

I just recived my new Synology DS412+ and installed Sabnzbd on it.
I have a 120 mbit connection and on my computer i get download speeds from +/- 12mb per sec
On my Synology i only recive 3-5 mb per sec.
I think my nas can do faster or am i wrong?

Anyone any ideas ?

****update****

I turned SSL off i don't think i need it anyways. And now my Synology is downloading at 12 MB/s a sec so i'm Happy!

Have you tried SAB on your PC? Do you get 12 MB/s (= 120 Mbps)? If so, your line and newsservice can indeed deliver 12 MB/s

If so, back to your NAS: It has a Intel Atom D2700 Dualcore (2C/4T) 2.13GHz. An Atom isn't the fastest CPU you can get, whereas SABnzbd loves CPU-power (and RAM). So it could very well be the 5 MB/s (=50 Mbps) is the highest you can get using SAB on that hardware. And I would say 50 Mbps is not a bad speed; you will get your movies faster than you can watch them. ;-)

If you want a higher newsserver download on your NAS, you could consider using NZBget on your Synology. Not easy to install, not as great as SAB to use, but less CPU and RAM requirements, so a higher chance you get a higher download speed.

HTH
