This is more of a networking question - maybe someone can give me a tip.

I have run Sab for years with no challenges. I run it on a headless mac mini that also runs dynDNS updater. I use port forwarding to open the mini's Sab port and this always worked to allow me to connect remotely. In fact it STILL does allow me to access my dashboard remotely so everything appears to be working.

I can not access my sab dashboard from my internal network using my dynddns address or even by using my direct IP. I CAN access by using my internal 192.168 IP.

I can't wrap my head around this. The port forwarding, Sab and dynddns all work together as proved by my ability to connect when outside of my home network.

Any one with any ideas? Is more information needed?

"direct IP" is your *public* address, right? Is has never worked?

If so, to make this work, your NAT device (modem/router) should support a kind of U-turn feature. Reason: the traffic goes from your LAN-device to the router with an outside address, which the NAT-device has to detect and U-turn it back onto your LAN to your Mac Mini.

Not all NAT-devices have that U-turn feature, or have the U-turn feature enabled. So check your NAT-device.

Yes, by direct IP I meant public IP.

And yes, this worked at some point.

Any idea what that feature would be called so I can look at my router settings? Dlink if it helps.

And, no, no idea of the name of the u-turn feature. Browse around. Check modem/router logging. Check firewall

Ouch: I checked my own modem (Zyxel P-2812HNU-F1), and it neither does the U-turn trick. I just get an XML error message when access the public-URL for SABnzbd from my LAN (it works when using that URL from Internet):
