My download speed is slow I have cox cable and I am running Vista home premium. this is a brand new desktop pc. when I used my gateway which is much older then this HP. the download is very fast. I was told that the speed would be a little slower with vista. but it is really slow. can you give a possible reason why this is happening. Oh I am downloading from Newzbin.

Thanks for any help you could give.

You still don't say what your actual speed is.
You cannot download from newzbin.com, it's an indexing site not a news provider.

I get upto 7000 KBytes/sec on my E8200 Vista system (70% of my 100 Mbit/sec fibre)
using Giganews.
