unable to set up ssl connections

I have been trying without success to set up my service with UsenetServer (SSL with 20 connections). I had been connecting just fine using standard 10 connections. Now I am getting 502 errors no matter how many connections I test... even 1! Can you help, please?

Something must be really "wonky" as I cannot even exit the program without using Windows 7 Task Manager and ending the SAB.exe process! Right clicking on the SAB icon won't do it.

502 errors might also be caused by the server.
What is SABnzbd doing when it won't stop?

RE: 502 error... I thought of that so I tried Grabit and it connected fine and showed 20 active connections.

When SAB wouldn't stop, it was trying to process a downloaded file that was short on repair blocks.

I've got SAB running again after I shut it down for a while but it is still showing 502 errors in Server Config screen, even when I test it at only 1 connection. And after I retried that bad download it is hung up again on it. In between those 2 bad downloads I did manage to do a good download and process it.

Should I try removing the server and redoing it? Would that be any help?

I have no experience with Usenetserver, so I don't know how well it and SABnzbd like each other.
There are so many Usenet providers, I cannot test them all.
Generally we get very few Usenet-specific complaints.
NNTP is a fairly simple protocol, so there's little SABnzbd can do wrong because
it works with dozens of different Usenet servers.
Have you tried without SSL?

It is true that SABnzbd takes forever to stop when it is busy post-processing.
It wants to finish the current job, because stopping may lead to unpredictable results.
(Also, currently we haven't implemented terminating external programs yet).

Thanks so much for hanging in with me on this... I just turned SAB back on after 2 hours off and it is still trying to process that bad file. Hopefully that will stop eventually. I tested the server config again and this time it showed a successful connection (!) Who knows. At any rate I've been using SAB from the beginning of my Usenet experience and I want to continue so I'm trying another download and keeping my fingers crossed.
