SABnzbd Forums

I have NZB's associated with SABnzbd, so that I can just "run" them from Windows Explorer and SABnzbd will start downloading them.

Suddenly, that has stopped working. I get the error -
"API Key incorrect, Use the api key from Config->General in your 3rd party program: Python-urllib/2.5"

Of course, I'm not using a 3rd party program so there is no way to fix it based on that information.

I'm using SABnzbd 0.7.6. I realize I can work around this problem a few ways and I have, but I'd still like to be able to just double-click on an NZB to download.

On a side note, I have SABnzbd 0.7.3 installed at work and everything still works fine. Comparing both versions config, option for option they are the same (except for any new config switches not present in 0.7.3).

Do you run SABnzbd from a different user account as when you click the NZB files?

I have had the same problem, I even un-installed, cleaned out Windows registry and temp folders, nothing seemed to work. But I beat it!! LOL

All I had to do was go into settings and reset my NZB Key. Application re-started and then it worked right again. I never had to use this key but it was always filled with something so....

Edit: I realize this thread is ancient but I was having the same problem New Year's Eve 2017. Go figure

Ahh, sorry to necro but I'm having the same issue.
I tried resetting the NZB key as well as reinstalling the same (latest) version over itself as suggested in another thread but still doesn't work.

I've just migrated from a Windows 10 installation to a Windows Server 2019 one, everything else is working fine, the full access API key seems to be working fine for Sonarr/Radarr/nzb360.
I moved across just the .ini and just as the previous install, I'm running SABnzbd as a service.

Full error is:
API key incorrect, Use the API key from Config->General in your 3rd party program: 127.0.0.1>SABnzbd/3.1.0

I tried resetting the NZB key

I think you should reset the API key as "API key incorrect, Use the API key from Config ... "
