Video Playback error after post-processing

I'll try to explain this as best as i can, for the past couple weeks or so any video file i download will randomly stop while using VLC. I'm using SickBeard with Sabnzbd and i assume something is going wrong in the post-processing. I'm not sure how to resolve this issue since ANY video file I've downloaded from sabnzbd/sickbeard has had this issue while playing back. The video will play fine for 5 minutes then just randomly stop, ill try again and skip past that part and it'll play fine for a while but sooner or later does the same thing. I know its not VLC's fault because i tried this with MplayerX as well.
any help would be awesome, my sabnzbd/sickbeard is pretty much out of commission until i can solve this issue.
EDIT: from narrowing it down a bit more seems like its SABnzbd's fault, i unrar'd manually and have no issues. So its definitely a SABnzbd extraction error corrupting all my files.

For OSX and Windows, SABnzbd uses the official unrar client for unpacking.
On other systems, whatever is installed by the user.
It's simply not possible for SABnzbd to add errors to the process.
Which OS are you using?

I'm on OSX (mountain lion), its odd because when i dont allow sabnzbd to unrar/unzip for me in the post-processing stage and i do it manually the files turn out fine. once i turn it on, it messes up the file. im not sure if it makes a difference but i have unrarx installed on my system.

We're a little bit behind with the unrar client.
What you could do is update the unrar tool.
Download it from here:
https://github.com/sabnzbd/sabnzbd/blob ... nrar/unrar
Use the Finder to set the X (executable bit) of the unrar file.
Copy the file.
Open the package /Applications/SABnzbd.app in Finder (right mouse button menu: Open package)
Go to Contents/Resources/osx/unrar/
Paste over the file unrar.

Thanks for the feedback, we'll include the new unrar in the next release.
Still odd that very few (one?) people report this...
Never had problems with it on OSX myself.
Do you have an example NZB that shows this behaviour?
Please email to
bugs@sabnzbd.org (and add also the URL of this post).

sorry to bother you again, but seems like the problem is back? i'm confused as to what is causing this. could not shutting down the program often enough cause an issue?
EDIT: let me also add that every once in a while inside of activity monitor ill notice that sabnzbd is open twice, when it is like that the whole program locks up as though its stuck processing a file.

Running SABnzbd twice on the same administration file sets is a guarantee for problems.
Which version are you running?

i figured that would be an issue,it's not set to self start or startup on boot so its odd that it randomly happens on its own is it not? Either way, i'm running 0.7.6 on the newest version of ML

When you associate NZB files with SABnzbd, double clicking an NZB will launch
a new instance of SABnzbd. This instance should see that another instance is
running. It will send the NZB to the running instance and quit.
If that detection somehow fails, the second instance will keep running.
Can you try to avoid double-clicking NZBs for a while and see if that makes a difference?

Hello All,
This sounds like a rare problem but I also wanted to note that I'm having the same issue running SABnzbd client 0.7.6 and Windows Server 2008 R2 x64. Same instances of occurrence (Video files), same issue (Playback issues almost immediately upon starting).
The file sizes appear to be approximately what they should be.

And you checked whether the cause isn't just having multiple SABnzbd instances running?
