Welcome all!

As a new member i would like to start with saying i really like the forum, keep it up!
I recently installed sabnzbd on my home-PC (windows 7) and i have got a question about remote access.

Is it possible to access the sabnzb remotely from another network with my laptop (also running windows 7) to check status, add new queries, etc.?
I have checked the forum and found a post about SabControl, but it's used for the server version of sabnzbd as far as i can tell as a rookie.
- Are there other possibilities without using a server?
- Is it safe?

Thanks in advance,

copyrix

The basic method is:
Define a user name and password in Config->General
Set 0.0.0.0 as host addresss in Config->General
Tell your software firewall to allow incoming traffic to SABnzbd
Setup port forwarding in your router
(The latter is necessary because any decent router will block incoming traffic
for web servers, unless you setup port forwarding from the router to
the system on which SABnzbd runs).

How safe is it?
Not sure, we're no security experts.
