Download speed slows down to a crawl after a few minutes

Post by michielp »

Since a couple of weeks I'm having issues with my download speeds. When I add a new NZB the speed pick up quite rapidly, but drops soon afterwards, going all the way back to 0kB/s.

This first only happened on my OpenElec box, but now also on my desktop. I already posted a message on the sabnzbd-suite (openelec addon) forums, which you can find here:
http://openelec.tv/forum/80-sabnzbd-sui ... ew-minutes (with debug log).

The problem is probably not copyright-related sinceI have the same issues downloading something like Big Buck Bunny. It might be related to the following report: http://forums.sabnzbd.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12098. However, upgrading to 0.7.6Beta1 did not resolve my trouble.

Version: 0.7.3 and 0.7.6Beta1
OS: OpenElec (sabnzbd suite with 0.7.3), Windows 7 64-bit (sabnzbd 0.7.6Beta1, windows installer)
Are you using IPV6? no
Is the issue reproducible? Intermittent
Usenet provider: news.tweaknews.nl:119 (also tried other ports available and SSL) with 30 connections

We cannot support third-party packages and definitely not older ones.
So, let's concentrate on your Windows PC.
Since you have only one Usenet provider, it's not impossible that it's just your provider.
What is the value of the timeout in Config->Servers?
Have you tried with a lot less connections? Try 8.
