Continually need to restart SAB to reactivate remote access

Hello,

I am running SAB on Windows Server 2012 and am finding that I have to restart SAB each day in order for remote access to the interface to work...

Eg..
Yesterday - restarted SABnzbd and accessed UI via client browser/iPhone/Qouch
This morning - accessed via client browser/iPhone/Qouch (didn't change any settings)
This afternoon - am no longer able to access SABnzbd UI from client browser/iPhone/Qouch however am able to access it locally on server via browser
This afternoon - restarted SABnzbd and am able to access UI locally/remotely as per normal

This was happening on 0.7.4 and now on 0.7.5.. any ideas?

Cheers

Don't your access methods all have in common that they access SABnzbd
from outside of your LAN?
Did you try direct computer to computer access within your LAN?

sorry, I was unclear.. yes, this happens within my LAN.. when I say "remotely", I mean from another device within my LAN

Try to access SABnzbd from the server itself, using not localhost but the actual IP address of the server.
If that still works, chances are that your software firewall has issues.

I can access SABnzbd from the server using localhost but not via IP address.. I cannot access it from my PC using hostname or IP address.. but all firewalls are turned off

Does "netstat" still show the appropriate port(s) as listening?
Try using an empty hostname, so that "localhost" is no longer used.
I'm just guessing here, because your complaint is quite unique.

the hostname was 0.0.0.0
i have cleared it now restarted
all good at the moment but if the issue still exists, in at least a couple of days, I won't be able to access it within my LAN as per normal
I'll post my result here in a few days
thanks a lot for your help shypike!

OK so 24 hours has gone by, still an issue.
Am unable to access the SABnzbd interface via IP/hostname from my PC within the LAN.. however now I am also unable to access the interface from the server (via IP/hostname) (since clearing 0.0.0.0 from the 'hostname' field in config).
each time this happens I have noticed that in the system tray, there are a couple of other SAB icons/instances that disappear once I hover over them like the application has crashed however one SABnzbd icon always remains which does not appear to have crashed (appropriately reflects status whether it be IDLE or downloading something.. besides normally I am able to access the interface on the server and downloads resume etc as per normal so I do not believe that SAB is shutting down all together).

I ran the netstat command on the server.. there are a heck of a lot of results from my PC and 9090 (SAB) all with the CLOSE_WAIT status except for 2 which are ESTABLISHED.
There are 4 ESTABLISHED results from the actual server itself.

As previously mentioned, my server is running Windows Server 2012 Standard but I don't see how that could be an issue.. ALL firewalls are definitely turned off and this has happened in versions 0.7.4 and 0.7.5.

Are you running SABnzbd as a Windows Service?
Maybe you should. The advantage would be that the SABHelper task will restart SABnzbd when
it becomes unreachable.
