Partial downlaods

Post by cormad »

Running Version 0.7.4
Windows 7 Pro

I am using sick beards for my episodes and ran into a string of partial downloads that only downloaded approx 3/4 of the file and then moved to History with a skull bone. I try retry and it starts a 3/4 and then errors again? I then tried a new episode from a different program and it works fine?

Note: What I was trying to accomplish was download a complete series back up of my copy of "Game of Thrones"

Thanks

Hmmm...it sounds like the nzb files I am grabbing are now incomplete? when I open the failed download it says missing files. I assumed it was an error and that the files existed but failed to download. If I understand you correctly the file/NZB is no longer good?

read....learn...think and repeat!

Because there is only 3/4 available on the news server; the other 1/4 has been removed because of copyright claims.

This probably isnt the place to learn this but....is there a way around this?different nzb file?
What is stopping copyright claims from removing every movie or tv file from usenet?

Thanks

Yes, find another NZB and try that.

Nothing. So that might happen.

Ok...been doing a lot more reading and now know what a DMCA is...ughh. Looks like I have been spending way too much money on my Giganews account :-[ . Single dad with no funds to spare. This is a good way to get "stuff" and keep my kids happy (any divorced dad's will understand about the no funds and keeping kids happy). Would love advice (PM is OK) on how to proceed? so many options. Just for reference I may be located in Canada.
ANY advice is greatly appreciated and I do my best to share what I have learned..

What most do is buy a block account as backup.
(You buy a number of Gigabytes of quota instead of a time-based subscription).
Generally, the more obscure the backup server, the better.
