Sort first rar even when Sorting by Age

Currently Sort by Age (Under Switches/Queue) overrides sorting of rar files so that .rar precedes .r00. I suggest another switch to keep first rar sorting enabled even when sort by age is checked. Also I suggest sorting certain small files first ahead of the first rar (nfo, sfv, par2, jpg).

This request is not very useful, you either sort by age of by some logical order (rar order).
The original option of age-sorting is rather silly, because it suggests
using a very slow connection and a server with a short but very defined cut-off date.
This combination will be very rare.
The option dates from SABnzbd's very early days, let's just say it wouldn't have been added today.

So sort by age is a legacy option no longer to be improved upon. Then may I suggest adding to logical order sorting by including certain small files along with the first rar (nfo, etc).

What is your reason to want these small files first?
It's typically the kind of files that users throw away.

Nefarious reasons >:D

Now what kind of sickofant throws away the nfo? It's akin to cutting off the credits. And how are you supposed to navigate a massive porn collection without jpg previews? It's inhumane I tell you!

Not sure about this really.
Putting them in front may piss off other people.
Having an option for this seems a bit bizarre, but I'll give it a thought.
The sort-by-age is definitely going in that case.

This is a feature I would really like to see, sort list adding

*.nfo
*.sfv
*.jpg
*.diz
*.txt
*.m3u
*.cue
*.pls
*.srr
*.srs

At top of queue, in front of the rars. Can also have a config that puts all small files first.

Reason for this is it looks a lot tidier when sorting by date. If you download 10threads and the nfo.sfvs are towards the end of the list they will start on last download thread but finish well before the rars so they end up looking scrambled when sorting by date. Other reason is some people like to read the nfo first, there are also fxp and ftp type transfer programs over dirs that work in conjuction with sfv check so having the sfv and nfo first would be a great help.

Sort of a junk-files first vs. junk-files last option?
BTW:

That makes little sense to me, are you going to copy files from the temporary download folder?
That's a moving target.

if u like! but ahhh you see, they aren't junk files to some. Firstly I find jpg and samples very useful and for programs the nfos can be invaluable. As someone else stated we like to read them before they arrive sometimes and yes that would be from the temp folder.

Other reason is because I don't unpack dls, I only use +repair option. The sfv contains the hash checksums which are useful to check integrity and for future checking that no corruptions have occurred. I don't see the need for unpacking rars, these days programs like BSPlayer and VLC simply play the video inside the rars if u drag drop the first archive.

The temp folder is a moving off dir, however the timestamp on the dls remains the same once they are moved to the completed dls dir.

If it's timestamps you're after, there's an easy fix.
Just have a little pp-script that "touch"-es the files in your preferred order :)
Like I said, it's on the todo list.
