HI Something I've never encountered before! When I try to open sabnzbd, microsoft expression opens. I've checked in programs(86) folder and still when I click on the sabnzbd icon In the folder, up comes expression. I disabled expression, tried again, and now it opens ms word. Any ideas?

The association between NZB and SABnzbd is off track.
Not an uncommon Windows problem.
Try re-installing SABnzbd and don't forget to tick the association option in the installer.

I think I misunderstood you, I was assuming you were talking about NZB files.
What exactly are you clicking on?
My guess is that you have the "hide known extensions" option on in Windows Explorer.
(Microsoft has shown a total lack of security-awareness here, in making this the default.)
You are clicking on the ICO (icon) file instead of the EXE file.
ICO files will start Expression (which knows how to edit icons).

Thaks for helping: I'm clicking the program icon in 'start' which is '"C:\Program Files\SABnzbd\SABnzbd.exe"', and trying to get the program to run. Instead of sabnzbd opening, it tries to open expressions. Hope this is more clear.

Try opening other EXE files.
I wouldn't be surprised if Expression has coupled itself to the EXE extension.

no luck I'm afraid, everything else opens with exe but not sabnzbd.

What if you open a CMD terminal, CD to the SABnzbd-programs-directory, and type SABNZBD.EXE<ENTER> ... ?

If even that does not work ... reinstall Windows.
(Sorry, I'm not a fan of Windows)

I'm wondering whether there may be a virus in my system??

well, malware came up with several bugs, so I quaranteened those, reset my system to an earlier date, and voila, it's working again.
