After adding an .nzb, download doesn't start for minutes

After helping my girlfriend setup sabnzdb (using my usenet server access), she's having a fairly annoying problem. Anytime she adds an .nzb, it takes anywhere from 2 to 15 minutes for the download to actually start. I realize that there are probably a lot of possible causes for this, but I'd like some help figuring out how to start troubleshooting it.
As far as I can tell, we have our sab settings identical, but I definitely don't have this issue at all.

So you're sharing your Usenet account?
Downloading at the same time?
Do you share the same ISP account?
Do you have in Config->Switches, the option "Disconnect on empty queue" on (you should).

Thanks for the reply. We are sharing a Usenet account, but it should allow 20 simultaneous connections. Though the fact that we were sharing one being a problem did occur to me, so I tried testing in different situations. The same thing happens whether or not we are downloading at the same time, and "Disconnect on empty queue" has always been checked. We are not on the same ISP account, nor even have the same ISP.

That could be the cause.
Most Usenet providers do no allow sharing and they know because they
see two IP addresses connect simultaneously.
Even non-simultaneous usage can be a problem, because they require a
waiting period between switching of IP.
Check your provider's terms of use.
For some well-known providers we show more information in the status field.
If you would use GigaNews or SuperNews you'd see a message on the Status page of SABnzbd.

Yeah, now I can see it is clearly related to having different IPs. There were times when she started her download before me, and neither of us had a problem, but this time I waited a few minutes until after hers was complete and now I'm being made to wait.
