Has anyone tried to run SABNZBD as a hosted service in the cloud? I guess something like Amazon AWS, Azure, etc...

I run SABnzbd on a VPS (Virtual Private Server), which is a hosted service: I pay 5 USD per month to have that VPS.

Running on Azure and AWS: you can run SABnzbd on any platform that has
- python
- cheetah, cherrypy and some other python libraries
- unrar and par2 executables

I'm not sure that Azure and AWS offer that.

Cool, so is it running Linux? Also, how much load or bandwidth are you using?

Yes, Ubuntu Linux.

How much load ... in what measurement?

Bandwidth: I can get to 100 Mbps ... using free Usenet servers over IPv6. ;-)

However, I chose Hexxeh because he offers IPv6 connectivity and great support (even via twitter).

You were already ordering? Cool.
Pity the 5$ (and 10$) VPSes are out of stock. You could check with @hexxeh / https://twitter.com/hexxeh when/if they are available.

May I ask you: why do you want SAB on a VPS?

I use my VPS for SABnzbd testing, webserver, IPv6 stuff, generic server testing, bittorrent, SOCKS Proxy testing, central phone-home system, ...
