Here is what I'm trying to do. There is a particular kind of download I want to get regularly from a specific group or groups, and I want those downloads to be sent to a custom folder like other categories. More specifially:
My default download folder for completed jobs is d:\ and then a subfolder for the category name, so for movies, d:\Movies\ and so forth. Stuff I want regularly from the group alt.binaries.nintendo.ds usually does not get indexed on Newzbin and thus does not get sorted into categories. So to get what I want I do either a Usenet (cond) or Usenet (raw) type search, check what I want, and save it as an .nzb to my Desktop. My desktop is the watch directory so the job gets automatically added to sabnzbd's que, downloaded, and unpacked.
The current behavior is that sabnzbd will create a folder named after the .nzb file, which is something like selected downloads {random#} in the default download directory, so i wind up with d:\selected downloads {random#}. What I want to happen is somehow all unpacked files end up in e:\NDS\ (and possibly do some post-processing them like 7zip them a particular way, but I can figure that out later).
I've attempted to do this by going to categories, adding nds as a category, with folder e:\NDS\, and alt.binaries.nintendo.ds under Newzbin/Groups, but this only results in the above behavior. Any suggestions?

Re: Moving uncategorized Newzbin .nzb jobs to custom folders
Set full paths (like d:\video) for all your defined catgories.
Then set the default "complete" path (Config->Folders) to e:\nds.
This way the folder of all uncategorized jobs will end up in e:\nds.

Re: Moving uncategorized Newzbin .nzb jobs to custom folders
Thank you for the quick reply, but that workaround doesn't work well for me. I'm going to want do do something similar to downloads from lt.binaries.emulators.gameboy.advance and have them go into the e:\GBA folder. Also, this would still cause the files to be in a selected files ... folder inside e:\NDS, and I would just end up having to manually move them one by one into the parent folder like I am now.
Is there no way to have sabnzbd recognize what newsgroup the files are coming from and treat them accordingly?

Re: Moving uncategorized Newzbin .nzb jobs to custom folders
I searched and found this thread - I've got the same requirement here. I'd like to be able to direct Newzbin RAW and Condensed select file downloads to a particular category and/or directory. Any thoughts on how to approach this, other than an enhancement request to SABNZBD?
Ideally you'd want it so SABNZBD recognizes something is a "selected download" (as opposed to a post) and would then allow you to create a category that is specific to the usenet group you downloaded the articles from.
For example:
Selected Download / a.b.nds ----> C:\NDS
Selected Download / a.b.m.comp ----> C:\Music
etc.
Does this sound like something one could accomplish with a post-processing script?
Thanks.

Re: Moving uncategorized Newzbin .nzb jobs to custom folders
Create a custom category with a.b.nds listed in the group (the full title) and C:\NDS in the path
As long as nothing else has set the category (ie added by newzbin) the new category should be defined.
You will need to create a post processing script to move all files up one directory, I think there is one somewhere on this forum for windows.

Re: Moving uncategorized Newzbin .nzb jobs to custom folders
Switch - THANKS!
I had no idea you could use the usenet group name in that field. This works 99% - the only thing that isn't working is my post-processing script being automatically associated with the item in the queue. I specified in the Category screen that the item should have a certain post-processing script apply, go to a particular folder, etc. ... everything works, but when I queue it up, it shows "None" for the script. Any ideas?
Thanks - and while I have your attention - I'm a huge SABNZBD fan....amazing work.
