Hi !

I have been using SABNZBD now since two years without problems.
But after my harddisk broke down and I replaced it with a new one, I have serious problems with SABNZBD Plus.
Everytime a download is finished, and it starts PARring/Checking for Errors/Unrarring, my PC hangs.
I don't get a black or blue screen. It just hangs. I can't move my mouse, I can't do ctrl-alt-delete, I can't do anything.
I'm using the latest new version of SABNZBD Plus (0.4.3) and my settings are like advised on www.binaries4all.com

Additional Information:
I replaced my harddisk with a new SATA Maxtor 160GB and I restored a backup from the old drive with Acronis True Image home, which has always workd flawlessly.
Some complicated programs like my Anti Virus, Deamon Tools and Mozy Backup gave some errors while running.
I fixed them by running the setup.exe from those programs and press repair.
I have reinstalled SABNZBD many times and I also have deleted old files and old folders (like cache and incomplete files).
Eventvwr reports no errors...

First carefully check your AntiVirus settings.
Some scanners try to repeatedly scan every file while it is being created.

Sorry for my late reply, our ISP had a major downtime of 12 hours so I wasn't able to do anything.

Alright, thanks for your suggestions but sadly it did not work.
I disabled my antivirus and restarted sabnzbd, but as soon the download is finished and it starts parring/checking/unrarring my PC hangs.
I also deinstalled the antivirus and installed a other one (Avast Free 4) with the same results.

Any other idea's please ? 

We ship SABnzbd-0.4.3 with a multi-code version of par2.
Maybe that is the problem.
Could you try to download par2cmdline from
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/parchi ... g_mirror=0 ?

Unzip the file par2.exe from it and overwrite the existing par2.exe file in SABPATH\win\par2

This older version is easier on the system and in particular on the harddisk.

Update:
Apparently it was really the antivirus like you suggested before  Before you posted the post with replacing the par.exe file, I did some checks regarding the newly installed antivirus (Avast Antivirus 4) and there is an option which says the following:

In the "Standard Shield" settings:
Scanner "Advanced" settings:
UNCHECK: "Scan newly created/changed files".

After that, I was able to download 2 complete downloads without hangs or errors... this was impossible before that so it appears it has been fixed ? If not I will let you know

Believe it or not, SABNZBD crashed again last night.
But this time not during PARRING/Repairing/Checking/Unrarring, no ! Just in the middle of the download it hang..
I have now replaced the PAR2.exe with the one you gave me.
I keep you posted !!
