I really enjoy cloud based technology. I also enjoy not having to install software. It's quicker and simple.

I was thinking a version or Sabnzbd that does not require installation of any kind, just a website you log into. Something along those lines.

Technically that's possible (I have it running already on my VPS), but it will cost the provider money: bandwidth, (a lot of) diskspace and computing power. The bandwidth and diskspace involved in newsgroup downloading is typically much higher than other cloud services like for example mail handling, and so it will cost more.

So, would you be willing to pay for it?

If it's a one time payment for sure.

To give you an idea of *monthly* fees for VPSes (on which SABnzbd can run), see http://vps.hexxeh.net/ . You could keep the fee low by keeping to storage to a minimum (and thus moving things to your local harddisk after downloading), however that would decrease the "cloud feeling". Or keep the stuff online (and stream / play online), but then keep the number of movies limited.

And: About any monthly fee can be turned into a one time payment ;-) Just multiply the monthly fee by something like 36 or 60 ...

Yes, that's possible. I have it running.

I search index sites (Newzbin, NZBMatrix, DOGnzb) and send them to Sab, or I use Sickbeard. All downloads onto my system.

This is how I did it:
I got myself a VPS and installed Ubuntu. I logged on, and installed and configured SABnzbd. That was it. My SABnzbd in the cloud can now do downloads for me.
