"Newzbin server changed its protocol"

Post by bassie21 »

Hi

I'm using SabNZBd 0.6.x together with SickBeard and Couchpotatoe on my Popcorn Hour A300 and I'm loving it :) However, when I use Newzbin in `index sites`, I get these error/messages:

2012-04-07 12:55:46,761 ERROR: Newzbin server changed its protocol

I guess because Newzbin changed its domainname from "newzbin.com" to "newzbin2.es" I get my errormessage.

Does anybody out here know how I can fix this error? Thanks very much O0

Hopefully in the place where you got your current, older version. Here on http://sabnzbd.org/download/ there are only pre-packed SAB versions for Windows and OSX, and the python source version (which I run on my Linux).

Installed this version with NMT Community Software Installer. It says: "Latest version, new daemon.sh and using better yenc for faster downloads. Also now using opkg instead of ipkg." I have v0.6.9 by the way.

If you can find the NMT SABnzbd package maintainer, ask him for 0.6.15

Ok thanks! I found the guy who maintains this package over here. I'll ask him!

So you can run the plain python source version on NMT? Cool!

Is it completely functional, including auto-start-up as a daemon?

it has been running @2,5MB/sec for over an hour now. Seems to work just fine!

OK, good, but let us know whether runs OK after a reboot. Especially: does it boot the new version, or the old version.

And if the boots the new version, could you write a mini-howto for a recent version of SAB on NMT? I think you first have to install the package (that will take care of unrar, python, par, etc), and that you then can upgrade...

I've done several reboots and yes ... i can conform that the new version is loaded

Image

this is how I did it:

1. installed the 0.6.9 version from NMT Community Software Installer
2. after installing, it says that this build is the latest, however, there's a 0.6.15 version available (which is not (?) customized for your PCH A300) over
3. HERE
4. unrar the above file [3]
5. make a copy of your existing sabnzbd.ini
6. copy unrarred file [3] over \\YOUR_NMT\share\Apps\SABnzbd
7. copy existing sabnzbd.ini back
8. reboot using NMT Community Software Installer
9. access Sab from http://192.168.0.xxx:8080

thats's it!!

Thank you. I've changed the title of your post to reflect its contents.

I've a HDX1000 at home, so that's a NMT also, although quite old. I wonder if SAB could run on that machine ... it has a 300 Mhz MIPS processor ...

BTW:

You could try SAB 0.7.0 Beta 2; it has some new feature, see http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/introducing-0-7-0

Well...I know that when downloading or unrarring, it's impossible to use my A300 (which has a 800 MHz processor) for watching a movie. So I download at night (using the Sab schedule option). Works for me, you might want to try it with your HDX1000 ;)
