I am new to both usenet and sabnzbd. Upon downloading files, I am getting this error : failed repair (error 5) access is denied
When I go to the actual folder, I am unable to unrar fully as it stops at some error. What is going on pls ?

Does it happen to all your downloads?
What is the "some error"?
Which SAB version do you use? Which OS is SAB running on?

Other than the first few lucky ones, this error does throw up with all the downloads now. I also see there are two par2 files ? how do I use it for error correction. What should be the settings for these as I have unchecked all of these :
enable quick check, enable unrar, unzip, par cleanup, fail on yEnc CRC errors, sfv-based checks and check result of packing
I am using ver 0.6.15 on win xp 32 bit.

Did you change all those settings? If so, I find to hard to help; a default install of SABnzbd should just work. If you want to go back to the default setup, do this:
- deinstall SABnzbd
- find and remove sabnzbd.ini
- install and start SABnzbd. You should get the wizard: fill it out. If you don't get the wizard, go back to step 1
- then do a normal download and see if it works. If not, post a screen dump of the error message
