i have downloaded the nzb file and it's listed under the 'history' window. now what do i do with the file? how do I watch it?

Depends on what you downloaded.
Most files play with VLC.

so in the completed folder for the downloaded movie i have sevreal files with the following extensions
mkv
srt
nfo
nzb

Download and install VLC (google it) and play the MKV.
The rest is junk, although the NFO is a text file that tells you what you downloaded.
