URL Fetching failed; Unusable NZB file

Post by kleptican »

I have https://nzb.su as my primary nzb provider in SickBeard and I've been getting a lot of messages with that reasoning. At first I was getting not enough repair blocks and I was about to get a block account as a backup server, but then just about every show that would try to download would receive the error of "URL Fetching failed; Unusable NZB file." Would a block account fix this? Why would I get this error? I have a free account at nzb.su, but I don't download a lot, so I don't think I've reached any maximum; besides, if I did, wouldn't SickBeard move on to the next provider to find the show?

It use to work fine now just about every show I download is unusable. Would a block account fix this? I have AstraWeb as my usenet and they have the episodes when I manually search for them. Any thoughts or let me know if I need to provide anything.

Thanks all.

The problem is in nzb.su, it has nothing to do with your Usenet provider.
So buying a block account won't fix this.
If a nzb.su NZB fails, check the nzb.su site to see whether they actually have a valid NZB.
Not all indexers are equally reliable.

Is there a NZB provider that's generally regarded as most reliable? I have a free NZB matrix account, but apparently that's near useless since it doesn't give me an API key. Should I get a VIP account with them or is there a better indexer?

How do I check if the NZB is valid? Do I take the entite link that failed and is displayed on SABnzbd and paste it in the address bar? When I did that it automatically downloaded the file and then automatically started SABnzbd to run.

I personally have little problems with nzbmatrix,
but people keep reporting issues.
I do not know how often the issues occur and how much
is (partially) to blame on SABnzbd.
We have an overview of indexers on our Wiki: http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/nzb-sources

I just added The Walking Dead as a new show and set all of the old shows as wanted in SickBeard. All of the shows were immediately snatched and sent to SABnzbd. I let it run over night and this morning only 2 shows were successfully downloaded. 90% of the ones that had an issue said "Empty NZB file" from nzb.su and the others said "unpacking failed". I don't know if anyone else is having this many problems with nzb.su, but I'm probably just going to delete it as a provider. I'm assuming this is a SickBeard thing, but I'm surprised that if it finds an nzb at one provider, if it fails, it doesn't automatically go to the next provider.
