Keeping or regenerating PAR2 files

Hi everyone, as the subject states I'd like to be able to keep all the PAR2 files from the NZB files I download.
Particularly, as i get from the FAQs, it is possible to keep the PAR files after the repair, disabling the autocleanup, but it's not assured that each one of them is downloaded as that may not be strictly necessary.
So, and I've been searching in the forums for this but unsuccessfully, is something similar possible?
My solution so far is to let SABnzbd handle all the downloads and then regenerate the PAR files with QuickPar but besides it being way slower it's surely not an automated process.

Thanks in advance

Why do you want to have & keep the par2 files?

Even when you can force SAB to download & keep all par2 files, you're not sure they are complete and correct. So your method to recreate the par2 files based on a correct download seems better to me.

FWIW: if you can't force SAB, you could also create a NZB with only par2 files. Example: go to https://www.binsearch.info/?b=ub10ltd6& ... an&max=250 , click on the "par2" button, create the NZB, and let SAB download that NZB. BUT: see above.

You can disable cleanup of the par2 files in Config->Switches.
Although, when you decide to unpack, you should keep the RAR files as well.
The latter you accomplish by selecting +Unpack instead of +Delete.
There is no option to force download of all par2 files, but we may implement it for a future release.
(There's a repair speed advantage in that at the cost of downloading more than needed).
