I'm using SuperNews, NZBMatrix, and SABnzbd in Chrome in OSX. When I download an NZB file and try to open it with SABnzbd, nothing happens. However, I can cut and paste the NZB link from NZBMatrix into SABnzbd and it will download just fine. Any ideas on why I can't just open the downloaded NZB directly? I'm running SABnzbd 0.6.15 with Mac OS X 10.7.3.

"Try to open with", how do you do this exactly?
Do you see anything appear in the queue?
Do you see any warnings or errors appear in the top left op the main page?
Have you opened the NZB files with TextEdit to see if they are actual NZB files?

I'm having a similar problem. With any other browser I can choose what I want to do with the NZBM d/l in the prefs, in Chrome there seems to be an override that causes it to go directly to SAB even though I've set it to download to the desktop. The queue work fine most times but not always (no idea why).

If anyone has any ideas on how to make NZBMatrix and SAB play nicely with Chrome I would be very grateful.

I don't know all details, but it looks like you're asking nzbmatrix to send NZB files directly to SABnzbd.
For this to work, you should expose SABnzbd to internet and then tell nzbmatrix about this.
There are ways to do this, but it's quite risky if you are not familiar with such things.

For Firefox there is an add-on (nzbdStatus) that will send a downloaded NZB to the local SABnzbd.
There's one for Chrome too, but I'm not sure about its status:

DOH! That's the problem. I had the chrome add-on installed and it was high-jacking NZBMatrix.

Uninstalled and working like a charm.

Hi there, noob here

I too have now got problems. I'm not certain, but this may have started with an upgrade. With the "old" version, I clicked on "download NZB" in NZBMatrix and SABnzb would just start the download in the queue - dead easy! Now, I have to go to the Firefox download folder and double-click on the nzb file - not a huge deal-breaker, but not as easy, yes? Any soloution (can't see one previously)?

This has nothing to do with "old" vs. "new" versions of SABnzbd.
Check the browser add-on that you are using. Without such an add-on, the behaviour that you want is impossible.

Nope sorry, don't know what you mean - I didn't have to add anything on before the recent problems.

Clicking buttons in nzbmatrix will not send the files to SABnzbd.
What may work is that you "execute" the file instead of save it.
If the .nzb extension is properly associated with SABnzbd then it will work.
Since double-clicling on an NZB does work in Explorer, you must look
for the problem in the way the browser itself associates NZB files.
That can be quite a puzzle.

Thanks shypike - we were sort of both right. When I first installed SABnzb, Firefox "automatically" associated nzb files with it. When I upgraded, Firefox "lost" the association, but I put it right this morning and it works! Thanks for the help.

my problem is similar to whats posted, im using moviegrabber to pull my nzb files from nzbmatrix. the problem is that sabnzb will not download them??? if i go straight to nzbmatrix i have no issues?? any thoughts
