Wake/Sleep Task Scheduling

Hey All,

This is more so just to see if this makes sense, or if anyone else has run into this as I'm just getting my feet wet with this software. Although my setup should be pulling a lot of power, I would like to set it to sleep and wake up to check new RSS feeds. I understand that there's the ability in SABnzbd that can tell the computer to go to sleep when finished processing/searching, and then modifying the sabnzbd.ini file to set queue_complete_pers to 1 (persistent reminder of the sleep command); so I imagine the only thing that has to be done is to schedule a task in windows to wake tbe computer to run at the time SABnzbd is scheduled.

Has anyone used this setup with success, or anything else that I could do to try and achieve the goal of having the pc sleep all day and check maybe twice a day for new RSS feeds?

Thanks much.

I'm having the same issue with my Mac. I recently set up the RSS feeds but due to the holidays, didn't have any new shows to download. Last night was the first opportunity and because it was sleeping, the downloads didn't start until this morning. I could set my mini to never go to sleep, but that seems like a terrible waste of electricity. There should be a way to schedule a cron job or an automator task to wake the machine up in the middle of the night to check the rss feeds and download as necessary.
