What was wrong with the implementation of the bookmark feature?
What didnt they(newzbin guys) like?

Because it was being scraped off of their website, instead of integrated with an API(codebase designed for applications to interact with it), which Newzbin has so far failed to create or finish. The fact that it was being scraped violates each user's terms of service.
