What a sick problem

Nice, these semi- or should I say pseudo-intelligent operating systems.
Personally, I have never seen this occur, but I believe you.
It is really a design error on the Windows side, which could also affect deletions.
I'd rather not mess with retries, how long should you wait?
Obviously retying forever is not an option, because you can be sure it will hang the pp-queue for someone someday,.
The thing that will be in the next release is an option to skip the renaming altogether.
Thanks for spending so much time to get to the details.

Chuck,
I'm having a similar issue, but the problem isn't with renaming files, it's from deleting the WORKDIR files as they are being copied to my completed directory. I deleted my log by accident, so I can't post the exact error messages, but the symptoms occurred during the unpacking process. The tv episode was copied into the proper directory, but was in a sub-folder that started with UNPACK. The NZB file was the only file remaining in the WORKDIR. I restarted SAB and the UNPACK folder changed to FAILED.
I'll post back on whether or not adjusting indexing in Windows 7 affects these symptoms.

i do not think that this is the case because i have this problem on 70% of what i want to download and its been this way ever since the last 3 versions i started to notice this problem. i have a server PC that has no antivirus/malware/firewalls software and i have this problem alot from 200mb files to 20gb files. i am sure its a bug with sabnzb itself than incompatibility with antivirus programs. the only problem i come accross is the file renaming/sorting and i only use series/films sorting.
PC setup with problems
Windows server 2008 (up to date with SP's and updates)
No firewall
no antivirus
no malware software
Software on the PC
Microsoft Outlook 2010
Windows outlook connector 2010
SabNZB
Winrar
and i am having problems with the renaming, and before you say anything about having viruses i dont have any, i scan my server twice a week though DOS
here is the log

Windows is a complete moron when renaming folders is concerned.
You'd better give up and disable the option "Enable folder rename" in Config->Switches.
