I am noticing the same 2.5 MB/s cap as you and the other user RichKK, which seems too suspicious to be a coincidence. One twist is that the cap only occurs when I use a certain router (details in are in my post titled "Downloading slow with ASUS RT-N66U Router").
And yes, there's no way it's coincidental at this point.
Alas, buying new equipment isn't really an option I'm willing to try at this time. I know it's been a while since you posted this. Were you able to find any resolution by chance?? (other than the router change)
