Oh crap!
You are right...
F is my windows drive which is running on ntfs...
Although I'm using Ubuntu since 2.5 years now I never changed having F as my place for multimedia stuff.
I will later this day test it on a real ext3 volume.

Sorry! I fear that I made you much work for nothing. I just didn't remembered, that F is my windowsdrive :(

So, I tested it in my home directory and it downloaded well...
Sorry again...
At least you can tell everyone, that sabnzbd + linux + ntfs = no good ;)

Actually you can cross out SABnzbd in the equation.
The problem is that the filename encoding on ext2 and NTFS is not compatible,
at least not in your setup.
A simple file copy would give the same problem.
Of course as long as you have names with only US-ASCII, you'll never notice
the problem.
