No, not at all.
You're helping QuickPar to decide what to do.
Also, you're dumping all files at once on it. That way it can figure out better how the files relate.
If SABnzbd did that with par2, then each large job would take much longer. (But probably par2 wouldn't handle it as well as QuickPar).
par2 and unrar are two completely different programs that have nothing in common in what they're supposed to do.

Pre-download split prevents the problem of duplicate files.
Provided that the big NZB actually has decent names in it that can be used to split the season into episodes.

Thanks for taking the time to explain that; it definitely helped me better understand some things.

This isn't necessarily just for you, but I'm wondering if there would be any way to have QuickPar handle these NZBs in unison with SAB? I see that QuickPar has no command line, but it does have the ability to monitor a folder for changes. I'm wondering if it could monitor either the temp or completed folder from SAB, make the necessary fixes as it's able and, somehow, produce all the final files for sabtosickbeard to hand off.

100% impossible.
I started with SABnzbd after I found out that QuickPar cannot be used in an automated solution.
It's also closed-source software and its author seems to have left the planet.

LOL! That's too funny, but it's interesting to hear that was the reason. Thanks for the answers and the awesome work on SAB!
