Do you experience problems during downloading?
Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
We will probably ask you to do a test using only basic settings.
Do you experience problems during repair or unpacking?
Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

I looked in the "InProcess" directory and there was a TON of left over stuff in there, I suppose from failed downloads, etc. I cleared out that directory and the download speed and time remaining display picked back up immediately. Go figure?
Which version are you using?
Sounds like behaviour of a very old version.
Although sometimes memory fragmentation can cause issues. Was the session running for a long time?
I have same problem with sabnzb not showing dl speed. Refresh rate is normal. Everything was working ok for a week or so ago.
My version is 0.7.17Beta3. Kubuntu 12.04. Usually I get this message: Download failed - Out of your server's retention?
EDIT: Seems like it was because I tried to DL broken posts or something. Tried with a newer post now, and speed DL speed is as normal :-)
Nice to know that no DL speed means that something is wrong with the post!
When SABnzbd asks for articles that the server doesn't have,
it gets the short answer "No".
This is reflected in a low download speed, because the speed is just the amount
of raw data data. received per second.

To get this clear: what is shown: no download speed, or a low download speed?
There seems to be a disconnect between the posters complaining of an issue and the sabnzbdplus folks.
sabnzbdplus devs/testers/maintainers/etc...: What you think is a clearly displayed indication that sab is going through a number of parts without downloading data is in fact not clear at all. When we see a low download speed but the progress of the post moves along at several MBps we just think the speed indicator is broken. We think our download is happening without issue but in fact sab is just running through each part and not downloading a thing. This is not clear at all in the interface. So if this display isn't changed, please keep that in mind when responding these posts.
User interface design is difficult.
What is your suggestion to solve this problem visually?
From the perspective of SABnzbd this is what happens:
- The actual download speed is low (few bytes come in)
- Progress is happening as the amount of pending articles reduces gradually
I understand that it is not immediately clear for the user what the underlying cause is.
However, the new Glitter skin shows how many articles are missing.
A high number should give a hint.
BTW: unless you are using the "abort if completion not possible" option, SABnzbd doesn't
draw the conclusion that this is a removed (or very heavily damaged) post.
If you do use the option (which will be the default in the next release), I think
the situation will be a bit easier to interpret for users.
Provided they understand that DMCA takedowns are much more frequent than a few years ago.
But then, SABnzbd was never meant for the casual and/or novice Usenet user.
