Hi All. This is driving me nuts and be glad of any advice.
I am downloading fine locally using a i7 Win7 PC with a lot of RAM. Maxing out my fibre at 4MBs. However, when I configure SABNZB to save to incomplete/complete folders on a mapped network drive (linux based media server next to my TV) the d/l speeds vary from 100kbs to 700kbps. No other real network activity, Win7 shows 2-3% network utilisation on the 300Mbps wireless N connection.
If I download locally and then transfer the single unrared file to the mapped drive I get around 3-4Mbs transfer speed and so confused.
I have changed number of news server connections to 1.
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers
Darren
Why are downloads so slow with mapped drive?
Re: Why are downloads so slow with mapped drive?
The traffic for the shared drive competes with the Usenet traffic.
How fast is your networking hardware 10Mbps or 100Mbps?

I have a 300Mbps wireless connection.

Even so, WiFi is easily congested.
WiFi is particularly bad at sustained heavy traffic.
SABnzbd has little role to play in this.

Re: Why are downloads so slow with mapped drive?
Thanks. Not very practical but I will try a wired connection or homeplugs (mains networking) to see if things improve.
