ERROR: Too many connections to server

Post by ocksblood »

Hi there, I am a new user of your great service. After some time fiddling and getting it working I now seem to have run into a problem. I can't seem to download anything because I keep getting this error message that automatically shuts down the DL:

"ERROR:Too many connections to server news.giganews.com:563" etc, etc

If I pause it and start it again occasionally I can get a tiny portion DL'd before it happens again. I tried to DL different things, to make sure it wasn't the particular thing I was working with, and this happens with all of them.

I read another thread on this forum from a few years back but it did not help me fix the problem. Could someone point me to the fix? It could very well be something very simple that I am totally overlooking. I much appreciate it.

How many connections did you set in Config->Servers?
A value between 8 and 12 is more than enough.

I had it on 20. Thanks for the help. I think that might have solved that issue.
