Failed / aborted jobs leave behind a mess

Post by SpacemanSpiff407 »

I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue, can't find a solution elsewhere.

I use sab on an always on server, and have the option in switches "Abort jobs that cannot be completed" checked. This seemed like a good choice because if a job can't be completed why waste the bandwidth? After a while I noticed my cache drive on my server (where my sab download folder is located) was getting more and more full. This isn't supposed to happen because the whole drive is for temporary storage.

When I went into the incomplete folder for sab there are a lot of folders named after shows and movies on my lists. These normally get cleaned up. I manually deleted everything in there (nothing was actively downloading in sab). I then put another show in the queue, and it happened to fail (out of server retention?). I noticed after this that the partially downloaded files and the folder for this episode were still in the incomplete folder.

I'm wondering if there's a way to have sab delete these files automatically without having to click on the red "-" and select "delete nzb and files". Since my goal is to have my server totally automated this won't work as I don't check up on sab on a regular basis.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. My complete folder also has a lot of folders not being dealt with automatically, tho I'm fairly certain this is a sabToSickBeard.py or sickbeard issue rather than something sab is doing wrong.

You can put a "Remove failed jobs" event in the Scheduler.

Yes! This may be the simple solution I was looking for! Just turned it on to remove failed jobs once a week, I'll see how it works. Didn't really mess around with scheduler settings before. It seems to be a lot more powerful than I originally assumed.

Now if only I can figure out a way to relay jobs failed back to SickBeard and Couch Potato so they auto try a different download...

Thanks for the help!

AFAIK SickBeard has a script for that.
I'm not sure how to configure it for failed items, check their docs.
