Can I not update from 0.4.6. RC2?

Post by EnnZeeBee »

I'm very puzzled. I use version 0.4.6 RC2. The program when running has a green indicator on the left hand side of the screen saying that release 0.4.6 is available. I downloaded the newer version, installed it on top of the existing program, but the program still remains as version 0.4.6 RC2. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but still no change. The only thing that I didn't disturb is the Documents and Settings folder of SABnzbd, because I didn't want to delete my settings.

What am I doing wrong? ???

Search your complete harddisk for the file SABnzbd.exe (Windows has a nice search function).
Maybe you installed the previous version on another location.

Oh, thank you so much! I would never have found what was wrong if it wasn't for your help.

What I discovered was that I had one installation in Program Files in a directory named SABnzdb, and another one in a directory named SABnzbd. I must have installed the pre 0.4.6 version or versions using the zip file package instead of the version with the installer, and I gave the related directory the wrong file name (SABnzdb). When I recently installed the 0.4.6 release I used the installer which obviously installed the application in the other directory (SABnzbd) while my shortcut was pointing to the SABnzdb directory.  :-[

The good news is that my settings have not been affected by my stupid mistake.  :)
