Hello Guys,
i have a problem. I got a little Linux System.
My problem is i dont have much RAM so my HDD is running very often.
I couldn't build a fan in my tiny tiny System so my HDD is getting to hot.
My idea was to take a USB-Stick for caching much data, so my HDD is not running all the time.
But i have read that it isn't possible anymore to change the cache directory. Is it true or is there still a way?
The problem with the incomplete directory is that my USB stick isn't that big.
Has some one an idea?

Re: Cache Download
There is no cache directory any more.
Just the "temporary download folder".
So unfortunately it's not possible to use the USB stick.
Be aware that it would wear out soon.

Re: Cache Download
you mean my usb stick? Yeah i know, but a HDD wich is getting 60°C or 140°F isnt good as well.
And there is also no possibility to write directly in a Swap File?
Or can i say to Linux if 80% of my RAM is full use the Swap File?
Because if use 100% of my RAM the system is getting very very low..
I mean my System doesnt matter the size of cash. If my memory is Full it write it directly on my HDD. It doesn't use the swapfile.
Do you know a reason why?

Re: Cache Download
Maybe you checkout software that requires less resources.
nzbget needs less, but it's more complicated to setup and misses certain things SABnzbd has.
