I can't even get started

Post by computer idiot »

I have a newer MacBook Pro. I tried installing sabnzbd+ ... went thru the Wizard and think that I messed up ... I chose allow http or something like that ...

Anyway, the wizard told me to open a terminal window and type a long string ... (setting the 9090 site number???)

But it didn't work. So after googling around for a couple of hours I concluded I need to get the wizard to open again. I can't get that to happen. An adminstrator on this site told someone to delete all the files in /user name/Library/Application Support/SABnzbd/

which I did and now nothing happens when I try to start this program ... no wizard no indication of life ... nothing .... I've tried deleting the program but it says it is open and I can't move it to the trash .... so I'm basically out of ideas .... what can I do???

Update, I found using the Activity Monitor, SABnzbd and was able to quit it. Then I went to applications and moved it to the trash. Before I do this again. Is there something that I need to know before I try the reinstall? Are there default "firewalls" that I'm having trouble with or is my theory that it has something to do with allow http the culprit?

It's probably HTTPS that you enabled.
Just use the default setting as much as possible.
