Synology - sabnzbd cannot post process to /volume1/downloads

Post by Spuddy »

I have recently installed the community sabnzbd install on my DS1010+ and everything seems to be fine (files download etc) except for the final part of post processing; moving the file to /volume1/downloads/%createdfoldername%.
PostProcessing was aborted (Cannot create final folder /volume1/downloads/downloadtest)
DSM 5.0-4458 Update 2
Sabnzbd 0.7.17-8

Using top i can see that the Sabnzbd process uses a user called Sabnzdb (which I haven't created, nor is it listed in the DSM users panel). How do I ensure that this user has access/write privileges to the /volume1/downloads folder?

Any ideas?

Try to create the required base folder through an admin account
and then allow access by user "SABnzbd". You need an ssh terminal session for that.
Then also set wide access rights in Config->Folders (explained here: http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/unix-permissions )

I don't know any other details, the package is created by a third party.

Spuddy, I have the same problem with my current set up using Synology NAS DS213j using the community package. It was working fine one day and the next day, I get pretty much the same error, but instead of creating the destination folder, I already have the show's folder but the post-process cannot find the folder so it assumes that it's missing.

I'll try shypike's method and create a user SABnzbd and see if that works tonight.

If you have fixed your problem, let me know what you did please. Thanks.
