NZB stuck at waiting

Post by madman236 »

Hi All

Quick query please, SABNZB has been working fine for me for the past year on my synology has. However I had to reinstall sabnzb and python on a new drive and as a result when i try to download an nzb its stuck at loading,

i thought it was a connection issue, i get the error 502 Your per-user connection limit reached every time i attempt to test server, i decreased the no of connections to 14. I'm on astraweb port 443 on ssl via virgin media. i know my credentials work fine as I used the download station within synology to download nzbs which worked fine but i was unable to extract/unwrap correctly hence why I'm sticking with sabnzb.

any help would be appreciated as currently i am unable to download/extract nzbs

thanks

Set Config=>Switches=>"Disconnect on empty queue" to False.
Then wait half an hour.
Astraweb is a rather unpleasant provider (at least from my perspective), it simply behaves different than the others.
It fails to register closure of the connection from the client side.
Also make sure that no other device in your house is communicating with Astraweb.

Hi Shypike

Already done that, no luck. would it be worth me switching to giganews? Can you elaborate on what you mean by any other device communicating with astraweb? I had sabnzbd installed on one drive, now I have had to install it on another drive within the same nas, could that be the issue?

thanks

Oh right.
You're using it on two devices?
At the same time?
The "Disconnect" option is meant for these kind of situations.
SABnzbd will actively disconnect unused slots, only Astraweb doesn't see this.
I would recommend Supernews (the budget Giganews), which you can get for about the same price as Astraweb.
Both have similar DMCA behavior, so that won't make much difference.
Of course I'm biased, as the forum carries an ad for Supernews/Giganews.

Hi there

In the end I signed up with giganews (sorry i did this before u responded), uninstalled and reinstalled sabnzb and it looks to have worked now.

I dont suppose you know if vyprvpn helps to boost my download speed? I'm on virgin media 60mg

thanks

The only reason using VPN would help is to avoid throttling by your ISP.
Assuming it is throttling and using VPN will actually avoids this.
Other than that it will sooner be slower than faster.

I don't really know.
Did you need to install additional software?
SSL layers usually are quite taxing for modest CPUs.
However, nil is very slow indeed.
