I know there is an open topic about a similar issue but in my case I have a windows machine and I have done no updates.
After each download the unpacking takes a very long time. Sabnzbd was unpacking a 1GB file and it must have taken about an hour and a half.
I have a windows machine and I had made no changes to the OS or to Sabnzbd. Infact I had a older stable version of Sabnzbd I think it was 6.08. When I saw this slow unpacking issues since yesterday I decided to upgrade to latest sabnzbd version. No changes to unpacking speed. It is still the same. Now I see a different problem. I see the temporary folder _UNPACK_<downloaded_foldername> still remains with the unpacked file inside that instead of in the <downloaded_foldername> folder.
I am not sure if this is a bug.

Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
We will probably ask you to do a test using only basic settings. - Do you experience problems during repair or unpacking?
Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

unrar versions vary in unpack speed.
You can try to replace unrar with an older version (get it from an older SABnzbd release).
You can also disable the 64 versions of unrar (See Config->Special).
