windows: sabnzbd source - how to install par2, unrar & unzip

hi

need some help here..
I want to run sabnzbd as a service, and have chosen to run all sabnzbd related programs as 'source'... so I thought I'd start with sabnzbd..
after running into some issues with Cheetah & pywin (fixed that)
I got sabnzbd started just fine, but I am missing the unrar, par2 & unzip binaries...

So question is... can someone guide me as to the installation? is it just Download->copy to sabnzbd/(somefolder) ?

The binaries are not in the tar.gz distribution file.
Either download them from their original sources or from https://github.com/sabnzbd/sabnzbd

thanks ... I am not sure what to do with the files to be honest... :-|
I downloaded both the win and the unix files..
since sabnzbd is "from source" I am unsure which version to use.. and where to put it...

First some checking:

You have Windows?
You have SABnzbd running (except for unrar, par2 and unzip)?
You found the Windows binaries for unrar, par2 and unzip on https://github.com/sabnzbd/sabnzbd/tree/master/win? Did you download them? You've put them in a directory that's in your Windows executable PATH?

If so ... you're ready. Start SABnzbd and enjoy.

yes, am on windows. I am running sabnzbd via python from source.
I have downloaded the par2, unrar & unzip files.

par2 I downloaded as linux & windows.. both 64bit versions.. I am using 64bit OS.
So I have a par2.exe file from the win_package
and I har a par2 file from the unix package.

I haven't put them anywhere yet... well yes.. I read somewhere that they should go in system32.. which didn't really make sense to me.. but I tried..

Shouldn't they be registered via python?

Hmmm. Let's go back to your original post:

Do you know you can very well run SABnzbd as a service with the ready-to-run SABnzbd Windows executable?

If so, why do you choose to run from source? As you see, that choice won't make it easier.

yes, I do know.. but since I am running CP, HP & SB as source I kindda just thought.. well.. why not run all the same way...

Gotta hijack this thread as I have the exact same problem. After reading up on various install methods for Windows Server 2012 Essentials I came about a forum where it said the only way he got everything working smoothly as service on windows was with source via python for all of them.

Everything (SABnzbd, Sick beard, Couchpotato) is working perfectly except for the par2, unrar and unzip missing in SABnzbd. Is there anyway of getting these to work via python/source? I'd truly appreciate it if anybody could help me out!
