Win 7 SABnzbd 7.14 would not configure

Post by Chaz70 »

I was trying to install SABNZBD 7.14 on my Windows 7 computer last night. I only use the IE browser (V10)
The Install went fine, and SABNZBD was in the system tray area. However my browser never opened so I could configure the options.
I tried "show interface", clicking the desktop icon... nothing... I even went into the options for IE and used reset internet explorer options.

So I downloaded the Opera Browser (15), set it to default browser and reinstalled SABNZBD 7.14 Sure enough using Opera I was able to configure SABNZBD and it works great.

Now the weird thing is, I uninstalled Opera and the set IE back to default. When I now choose "show interface" for SABNZBD it opens up and works fine in IE.

Any ideas what caused the problem between IE and the initial install and configuring of SABNZBD?

Probably SABnzbd wasn't able to find out what the standard browser of your system is.
That's being handled by a standard library we're using, so I cannot tell you what went wrong.
It may very well have been a Windows issue, because resetting IE as standard browser solved it.
