Cannot access sabnzbd webinterface anymore

Post by pacino8591 »

Hi,

Obviously I'm not the only one with this problem judging by previous posts on this forum. Despite all given suggestions I still can't access the webinterface of sabnzbd anymore. It never was a problem before. This is the message my browser (Opera) returns: Access to this port is disabled for security reasons. You tried to access the address http://127.0.0.1:563/sabnzbd. So I tried other browsers as well. I turned my firewall off, turned off my VPN software, changed the ipaddress in the .ini file to localhost as some suggested. Cleared my cache in all browsers, reinstalled sabnzbd and yet the problem remains. The fact is, the program works flawlessly but sometimes I need to change some settings which now is impossible.

Anyone out there who can shed some (new) light?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Paul

It is not me who selected port 563 ;-) Even after I reinstalled the program, for whatever reason port 563 gets selected all the time. Not that it seemed to matter that much, as when I manually restarted with port 8080 or any other port which was suggested, the result remained the same. However, your remark made me look at the .ini file in detail again and I found the culprit. After I changed the port number in the .ini file to port 8080, I was able to access the web interface again! What I still don't understand is that you have the option to right-click the sabnzbd icon, select 'troubleshoot', restart 127.0.0.1:8080 and nothing happens. Only after changing the .ini file I could see the web interface again.

Still, by responding to my question you contributed to the solution. Thank you!
