Adding the date to filename

Post by stkelly52 »

I currently use Config/sorting/series sorting to rename my files without using any folders. The string that I use is %sn - S%0sE%0e.%ext and it leaves me with a processed result of "Show Name - S01E05.avi". What my wife would like would be if I could add the date to the front of the file name so that all files are sorted by date even on our machine that will not sort by date. The date could either be the air date or the download date. Does anyone know how I would accomplish this?

It's not possible to accomplish this with a sort expression.
Doesn't your system sort properly when names are like this: show.s01.e02 ?
Do you put all downloads in one folder?

All of the downloads are in just one folder, but my wife likes to watch them in the order that they aired. (ie after watching episode 22 of ncis she will not watch episode 23 until she has watch that week's Body of Proof, Elementary, How I met Your Mother...etc) In my living room we have XBMC and everything sorts perfectly, but in the bedroom I have a cheap Zinwell machine that will only sort by name, so it lumps everything together by show title, and it makes it harder to know what is supposed to be next.

I see, but there's no option to do this.
Unless you want to write your own pre-queue script for renaming the NZB.
