Cannot connect to host. (XS Usenet)

Post by JamesTheWarlock »

When trying to test connection to http://www.xsusenet.com (or http://www.free.xsusenet.com), I get the message "Invalid Server Address".
Is this not the proper Host Address for XS Usenet?

No, it's not.

It is free.xsusenet.com

But ... if you have to ask, I wonder if you have an account with xsusenet ...

Thank you kindly.
I do have an account with xsusenet.
Having corrected the address to free.xsusenet.com, the test now returns "482 Authentication Rejected"

Hold on while I try and figure the problem here...

A free account, or a paid account?

OK. Well, then you have to check and re-check what you've filled out as account versus what you have received as account info.

It works?

If you type "sudo apt-get install miredo" on your Ubuntu, can you then access:
newszilla6.xs4all.nl
weathergirl-ipv6.tele2.net
(no account needed)
