sabnzbd cannot download a file, but Unison can

I use Usenetserver.com, and was trying to download a file on Monday that didn't work. (Missing articles, out of retention? errors). I emailed the NZB to a friend who uses Giganews, and he downloaded it without problems.

I found the troubleshooting guide on this forum, that said to try the download with a different tool. So, I downloaded the trial of Unison, and it was able to download that same NZB, from the same computer, using UsenetServer.com using Unison.

What setting in sabnzbd could cause this behavior?

Look, without more information than this, what can I say?
Did you try again with SABnzbd? Sometimes servers just sync slow.
Does it go wrong for all NZBs or just for this one?
Is it a very recent or a very old post?
What's the timeout (Config->Servers) and retry (Config->Switches) setting?

1) Yes, tried it several times, and it still fails.
2) Many NZBs work in sabnzbd, but I found 3 so far that failed in sabnzbd, but worked in Unison
3) Recent, the first download attempt was within hours of posting. By now, it's a three days old.
4) Retention is set for 0, Timeout is set for 120

Not "retention", but "retries" in Config->Switches.
Lower the timeout to 60 and set retries to 7 or more.

BTW: retention should never be set, unless you have multiple servers with very different retention times.
The value 0 is OK (that disables it altogether).

Last thought:
Possibly usenetserver uses an older protocol.
Enable "Send group" in Config->Switches too.

Regarding 3. Does Unison still download it?
You know that some posts are deleted very fast?

1) Done. Let me see if it works now.
2) I turned on "Send Group" also.
3) I actually tried (back-to-back) sabnzbd, then unison, then sabnzbd again. sabnzbd failed both times.
