Hi,
I have tried the guides to get this running as a service on WHS11.
But for the life of me I CAN NOT get it to work, must be STUPID or something as I'm following them exactly as they say.
But no matter what I do it just WILL NOT work.
I have uTorrent running fine, I have installed SAB as instructed run the service in a command prompt ect...
I can not access it from any computer on my network.
I can run it from a RDC & from the server its self in web browser but all it does is give warnings "SQL command failed"
I have been using it on my Desk Top for around 12 months.
Close to braking point with this

Did you use 0.0.0.0 or the IP of the system as SABnzbd's hostname.
Did you tell the Windows Firewall to let SABnzbd-service.exe through?
Where is your work area? Which -f parameter did you use when setting up the service?
Does the service have access rights to this work area?

Re: SABnzbd on WHS11 ???? PLEASE HELP
In the guide it says
"First downloaded the EXE to Windows Home Server 2011. Then remote desktop into the server, run the executable. When the install options windows appears do NOT click "start with windows" and do NOT click "Associate with nzb files". Leave everything to the default for now except "remote control from any computer on your network" you will need to check that. Lastly it will ask for a user name and a password."
I don't get an option this "remote control from any computer on your network" you will need to check that. Lastly it will ask for a user name and a password.
So why not ? And could this be why it ain't working ?

Re: SABnzbd on WHS11 ???? PLEASE HELP
It might be easier to stop the service first and start SABnzbd like this:
SABnzbd.exe -f d:\SABnzbd
Then use the local web browser to check whether things work.
SABnzbd.exe -f d:\SABnzbd
Then use the local web browser to check whether things work.

This runs SABnzbd wizard, but I can run that from the server.shypike wrote:It might be easier to stop the service first and start SABnzbd like this:

STILL can NOT access it from my other computers
Think I will forget using SAB and try to find an alternative.
Just NOT worth this been trying for 2 days. uTorrent was no trouble to get working.
